The Girl Gourmet Cupcake Maker is one gift that I am buying for my grandson for Christmas. I know the reviews have been unfavorable for this cupcake maker for kids but I also am aware that there is a work around for making this toy work right.

Most of the complaints that I have read on the cupcake maker is the quality of the cakes and the nasty frosting that comes with the package. I have a friend that has this toy cupcake maker for their kids and they have a blast with it. Much like the Easy Bake Oven it is only for fun not for making gourmet cupcakes.

The Girl Gourmet Cupcake Maker value pack comes with the Girl Gourmet Cupcake Maker and the Girl Gourmet Ice Cream Sandwich Maker together. This is a little expensive for my taste as a fun way to spend with your kids and grandchildren. I would recommend buying each one separately and saving, but together I don't find this worth the value.

For myself the Girl Gourmet Cupcake Refills are not worth the price. For anyone not normally having baking supplies in their cupboard I would recommend these refill kits.

I find using microwavable cake mixes and Jiffy cake mixes work just as well. And much cheaper!

If you are just looking for quality time to spend making cupcakes with your children this is probably a good choice as each mix only makes two cupcakes.

I still recommend the Girl Gourmet Cupcake Maker for young children and whether or not you choose to use the Girl Gourmet Cupcake refills is more of a personal choice.

The Girl Gourmet Cupcake Maker toy is a toy recommended for younger children, but not recommended for children under 3. This cupcake maker for kids does have small parts that could be a choking hazard.

As with any toy for smaller children, adult supervision is recommended. Plus the fact that this toy cupcake maker requires the use of the microwave for thirty seconds makes it a definite supervised toy.

My Grandson who is 3 will have tons of fun with this Girl Gourmet Cupcake Maker and I hope to be posting pictures of him enjoying it after the Christmas Holidays.
