Portable Shark Steam Cleaner

I own a Euro-Pro SC505 Shark Portable Pro Steam Cleaner and absolutely love this portable Shark Steam Cleaner. I am not sure how many people use a portable steam cleaner to clear their homes but I find them totally the easiest and greenest way to clean my home. I have had my Shark steam cleaner for several years and use it way more than I ever use my upright floor model steam cleaner. The Shark Steam Cleaner gets over used inside my house and outside.

When my daughter bought me the portable Shark steam cleaner for me I never imagined that I would ever use it so much. With its small size I thought it was too small to do much of any good except maybe to steam clean surfaces that were lightly soiled. I could not have been more wrong. This is probably the most useful gift I have ever received. If anything ever happens to my Euro-Pro SC505 Shark Portable Pro Steam Cleaner, I will definitely be replacing it with another one or one similar to it.

The Euro Pro Shark Steam Cleaner comes with several attachments for cleaning different surfaces and and for different difficulties of cleaning. The Shark Pro comes with including a floor brush; a squeegee for windows, tile, shower doors, and mirrors; a concentrator nozzle for spraying dirt or grease from car tires, garbage cans, grills, and ovens; and an angled detail brush for hard-to-reach places, such as under the toilet bowl rim or within the shower-door track. With the hard water in our area, being able to use the concentrator nozzle under the toilet bowel rim and in the shower door track and around faucets has been a real blessing. I no longer need to use a special chemical cleaner to remove the hard water buildup. If you have hard water then you know what I am talking about.

Not only am I saving tons of money by not having to buy tons of cleaning products, but I am giving my family and dog a safer environment in which to live. If you have a family with young children and pets you know how unsafe it can be to use harsh chemicals on the floor. I have grandchildren that live on the floor. They crawl, lay and sleep on the floor. They also spend a good deal of time putting their hands in their mouths after touching the floor and several other surfaces. Knowing that my floor is chemical free is comforting.

I use the portable Shark Steam Cleaner mainly indoors. I very seldom use any cleaning products any longer. All I need is distilled water. I do not use our tap water as I do not want the hard water to ruin the Shark steam cleaner. For the floor attachment I need to use a towel to attach over the floor mop. I buy micro-fiber towels at the dollar store and use these. Once I am done using the towels, I only need to wash them and reuse them the next time. Not a major investment.

I have used the floor cleaning attachment on all my wood and ceramic tile floors and have been very pleased with how clean and streak free they are. By using nothing but steam to clean my floors I do not worry about cleaning products ruining my floors or that I am adding any unnecessary chemicals into my enclosed home. I have a child who suffers from asthma and I am very careful with any fumes agitating her condition.

The Sharks squeegee attachment gets a lot of use. I use it to clean windows of course, but I also use it on my shower doors and tiles in the bathroom. I also use it on mirrors as they come out streak free and with no residue on them they seem to stay cleaner longer. Another really useful thing for me is removing old wallpaper. We live in a home that is 160 years old and some of the rooms have layers upon layers of wallpaper. All I have to do is squeegee over the old wallpaper with the steamer and the paper steams right off. No need to scrape and gouge the walls. The squeegee is also great for just steam cleaning the walls also. With the attachment wand I do not need to climb high on a ladder to get to the top of the walls to get the grime off.

I use the angle adapter that comes with the Euro-Pro SC505 Shark Portable Pro Steam Cleaner to clean around the rim of the toilet bowel. You no the spot that no toilet brush seems to touch. You need to be careful while doing this as the steam is pointing upward and you do not want to get burned from the steam. I hate cleaning the toilet bowl so I don't think anything invented would ease this household duty.

We have just recently used our Portable Shark Steam Cleaner to get rid of fleas. This has been a terrible summer for us as we have had a huge flea infestation. I read somewhere that steam cleaning gets rid of fleas and there eggs. I do have a regular steam cleaner at home but I do not think that it gets as hot as my Shark steam cleaner.

So I took my Portable Shark Steam Cleaner and went through my house steam cleaning. I used my steamer on all my floors carpeted or not. I would use my upright steam cleaner to suck up extra moisture and in the process sucked up the eggs and dead fleas.

This worked like a charm. We have been trying everything to get rid of these pests with no avail. Now we have another use for our Shark Steam Cleaner. Hopefully this gets rid of the fleas. We have never had fleas before taking in our sons cat, so we were unfamiliar as to how to get rid of fleas.

My portable Shark Steam Cleaner works as well out doors as in doors. With the spring here and the snow finally gone, it is spring clean up outdoors. My portable Shark with its long extension cord gets a major workout. It is time to steam away all that winter grime.

The first task for my portable Shark Steam Cleaner is to get all the build up off my windows on the outside. With the long expandable handle and the shoulder strap, I can zip right through cleaning my windows outside. The squeegee attachment is able to reach to the top windows on the first floor to the lower windows without the aid of a ladder.

Now I will clean out our gas grill. It is time to start grilling and I want to be able to have a clean slate to work with. Since I have kept the grill clean throughout last seasons grilling with my portable steam cleaner the gas grill steam cleaner spring clean up is not to big of a deal.

Its also time to get the patio furniture set up and cleaned. It would be nice to have Easter out on the deck, weather permitting. I take my Shark Steam Cleaner to the table and chairs. Since the chairs cushions have been in storage all winter I will be using the steam cleaner on them as well. The pressure from the Portable Shark Steam cleaner gets these cushions spotless.
