Best Steam Irons on the Market
66The T-Fal Ultraglide FV4379 is rated one of the best steam irons on the market. This T-Fal iron has so many positive reviews it was hard to determine if they were real or not. Nothing but praise has gone out for an iron made by a cookware company.
The T-Fal Ultraglide FV4379 steam iron is far less expensive than the much admired Rowenta iron. I even read reviews that stated this steam iron is even better and never leaks water. The easy handling and blasts of steam make this a very well received product.
Consumer reports even rates this iron higher than the Rowenta. I thought the rating was due to the cost but after reading reviews I don't believe that was the only determining factor.
Rowenta Focus DZ5080 Steam Iron
The Rowenta Focus DZ5080 steam iron has not had very favorable reviews. For the cost of around $75 this supposedly stellar steam iron has been blasted as having a major leakage problem. This problem has not only been reported on Amazon.com but also on the Consumer Reports website.
Consumer Reports gave the Rowenta Focus DZ5080 steam iron the same rating as the T-Fal Ultraglide FV4379003 Ultraglide.Unfortunately after reading the product reviews from many customers who have purchased this iron I could not give the Rowenta a favorable review.
The leakage problem with the Rowenta DZ5080 Focus seems to be a long standing problem that the company has had a deaf ear to. I will not be recommending this iron to my family or friends and definitely not to you, my readers.
Black & Decker F1060 Steam Advantage Iron
The Black & Decker F1060 Steam Advantage Iron with Stainless-Steel Soleplate is not a bad little steam iron for around $20. I have read many mixed reviews on this iron also. But considering the $20 price tag, I would not expect great things from this inexpensive iron.
The Steam Advantage does not have the steam power of the previously reviewed products. This is a very inexpensive iron that is probably better suited for touch-ups on permanent press. I doubt that this iron could have the ability to press linen table clothes well.
This would be a great travel assistant or iron for your college student, but I would not recommend this for an entire family's ironing needs.
Steam Iron Review
It seems that the steam irons of today do not match the quality of steam irons from the past. From what I have gathered so far I would not recommend spending money on the top of the line steam iron. This reviewer so far is leaning towards the T-Fal Ultraglide. This had far fewer complaints than the rest and seems to last longer than a year (this seems to be the standard life span for the rest of the steam irons).
