Anchor Hocking Fire King Jadeite is also spelled Jadite, as in vintage Fire King Jadite for sale. Jadeite is the term given to opaque green glass oven-to-table kitchenware produced by Anchor Hocking under their "Fire-King" brand and also by Jeanette, Fenton and others. Anchor Hocking Glass Co. introduced Fire-King in 1942 and produced it until 1976. It is found with a molded mark on the base and came in a variety of patterns and colors. Shapes, patterns, and sizes can affect value enormously, so pay attention to forms and details such as spouts, covers, and weight. As it is usable, often affordable, nostalgic and attractive, a large following has developed.

Fire King Jadite for Sale

You can find Fire King Jadite for sale in many places online and off line. The Fire King Jadite batter bowl in the photo is my own bowl. This Fire King bowl has been in my family since it was new. I remember using this bowl several times a week when growing up. Both my mother and my father loved to cook so mixing in this bowl was common place. I know it was used so often cause my brothers and I had to do dishes every night, without exception.

Fire King Jadite Restaurant Ware

Fire King Jadite Restaurant Ware was introduced as an oven ware usable in restaurants to handle the stress that was placed on dinnerware used so many times a day.One of the most popular styles among some collectors today is the simple, thicker, durable style of Fire-King Jadite called 'Restaurant Ware' which was often used in diners, cafeterias, hospitals, schools and hotels in the 40's, 50's and 60's.

The Fire King Jadeite extra heavy mug, by Anchor Hocking Glass Company with 'C' handle, was thicker and heavier mugs made so that less coffee could be served, meaning the shop made more money from a pot of coffee.

My grandmother had a mixing pouring bowl just like the one you have pictured above. I think I like this look more for the memorabilia, then for the look. :)

lakeerieartists, I am beginning to like the Jadeite glass ware more and more. I am seriously considering switching over my current stoneware set to the Fire King kitchenware. There are so many styles that I like especially the square set. Plus I can use this glassware in the dishwasher! :-)

I've seen Jadite at yard sales but I never knew what it was called. These are very pretty pieces.
